Brisighella’s gastronomy belongs to the good old tradition of Romagna cuisine.
Together with some renowned local wines, and the outstanding peculiarity of its products comes from a clean and ecologically untouched enviroment.
The leading product is the Extravergine olive oil named ‘Brisighello’, whose quality is recognized by the European Community as a DOP (Protected Denomination of Origin) product.
As well, we must not forget the typical local ‘Conciato’ cheese (a cheese ripened in the chalky caves), the Mora Romagnola (an old local pig breed), meats from the Bovina Romagnola breed, the “forgotten” fruits (such as the ‘Pera Volpina’), peaches, nectarines, apricots, the ‘Moretto’ artichoke, grown on the ravines.
Excellent is also the production of the local vineyards, specially the Sangiovese DOC (Controlled Denomination of Origin) and the Albana of Romagna DOCG (Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin), also in the passito wine type.
